The Dark HeavenMovie Synopsis: A police inspector investigates mysterious deaths in a hill village where residents believe a curse returns every seven years.The Dark Heaven Movie Review:The Dark Heaven has an involving mystery beneath all that thunder and lightning. Paari (Sidhu) investigates deaths in a hill village where folklore offers a ready explanation for every misfortune. Director Balaji keeps human wrongdoing and supernatural forces in contention, giving the police work an unsettling edge.For all the talk of curses, the detective work offers some of the more engaging passages. Questions about timings and gaps in witness accounts give Paari something concrete to pursue and the audience a chance to follow his reasoning. Sustaining that interest becomes harder as the case grows more convoluted. Exchanges drag, several supporting performances feel flat, and the gloomy setting is often left to supply the excitement. As more story strands pile up, too many scenes offer further explanation when the investigation needs to move on.The visual embellishments add to that sense of strain. Rain, thunder, and lightning are laid on thick from the opening, while AI-generated overhead transitions and the mythological backstory look especially corny. Starting at this pitch also gives the scares little room to build. So much is presented as ominous that the darker moments begin to feel routine.Sidhu and Tharsika are good in their roles, giving the central drama some conviction.
