(WLOS) —Storytellers across North Carolina have just days left to apply to the “Filmed in NC Fund” program, which supports indie film and video projects.
The program applies to permanent North Carolina residents and full-time college students living in North Carolina, according to the Cucalorus Film Foundation.
Selected projects can receive support ranging from $500 to $3,000 per project. The total budgets intended to support the development of ongoing projects can reach under $1,500,000.

The funds are provided through a partnership between the NC Film Office and the Cucalorus Film Foundation. Additional support comes from the Southern Documentary Fund and Artless Media, along with The Magnifying Glass.
Artists who have a record of producing original work that shows potential for community impact and economic growth are supported by the Filmed in NC Fund. The program supports projects at various stages of <a href="https://cinemamix360.com/2026/09/25/create-professional-audio-without-the-production-headache-with-this-200-tool/” title=”Create professional audio without the production headache with this $200 tool”>production in narrative, documentary, and experimental films, and prioritizes funding for women filmmakers, filmmakers of color and LGBTQ-identifying filmmakers.
The deadline to apply is at midnight on Wednesday, Sept. 30. Those who are awarded funding will be notified on Oct. 14.
