The Music+Sound Awards have announced the finalists for 2026.
The awards honour composers, sound designers, music supervisors, sync teams and wider creative talent “whose work is shaping music and sound in the media.”
This year’s finalists were selected by a jury including industry figureheads such as Max Aruji, Composer (Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning); Sara Barone, Composer (The Beast in Me, Planet Earth III); Ruth Barrett, Composer (The Girlfriend, Sherlock & Daughter); Ben Baird, Sound Designer + Re-Recording Mixer (Conclave); Raoul Brand, Supervising Sound Editor (Adolescence, Happy Valley); Nina Hartstone, Supervising Sound Editor (Wuthering Heights, Saltburn) and Charlene Huang, Vice President, Music Production at Netflix Animation Studios, Los Angeles.
In composition Nainita Desai is among those shortlisted for Netflix documentary, Murder In Monaco, along with Anne Chmelewsky for the BBC’s The Other Bennet Sister. They are joined by Camilo Forero and Chris Brocato at Bleeding Fingers Music for Netflix’s Queen of Chess, Patrick Jonsson and Richard Collins at Blank House Agency for A Gorilla Story: Told by David Attenborough, and Hans Zimmer, Anže Rozman and Kara Talve / Bleeding Fingers Music for Apple TV’s Prehistoric Planet 3.
In sound design, A24 are finalists for Eugenio Battaglia’s work on movie Backrooms, while Nigel Heath, Jamie Allen and James Feltham at Xacutti Productions are recognised for Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale. Other finalists include the sound team at Harbor Picture Company for House of Guinness, The Capture and Dear England, alongside the Molinare team behind A Thousand Blows and KOUZ team behind The Sentinels.
The sync line-up includes Nora Felder for Netflix’s Stranger Things, featuring Prince’s ‘Purple Rain’, and Caleb Chan’s cover of Olignised are Pete Kelly and Dean Hutchinson at Premier League Studios for, among other work, the Premier League Season Closer, featuring Ezra Collective’s ‘God Gave Me Feet For Dancing’, and Sinead Jenkins at Carbon Logic for the Malice titles, featuring Gabriels’ ‘Blame’
