Filmmaker Mike Flanagan’s Carrieremake just dropped, but his next project is already coming soon: The Exorcist: Martyrs.Rather than a remake of the classic 1973 film, this is the next installment in the Exorcistfranchise, and it’s produced by horror titan Jason Blum (Obsession).
Marytrsfollows detective Julie Miller (Scarlett Johansson), an expert in serial killers, who becomes involved in a murder mystery involving the killing of an altar boy in a church crypt. As one can expect from an Exorcistfilm, something supernatural is afoot.
The film also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Laurence Fishburne, and John Leguizamo, all of whom have glimpses in the trailer.
