The hit series “Yellowjackets” is coming to an end later this year with the fourth and final season, and Paramount Plus has released the final season’s official teaser trailer this morning.

Here’s the official synopsis: “The Yellowjackets race to bury their sins before rescue arrives — but the Wilderness has its own ideas about who gets out alive.
“After returning to Wiskayok, their secrets fester under the growing weight of what they’ve done and who they’ve become. Meanwhile in the present, two of the Yellowjackets prepare to kill one of their own as an old flame roars back to town with plans all their own. Turns out not every homecoming is a joyous one, and this one’s going to sting.”
So why is Season 4 the show’s final season, you ask?
Series co-creator Ashley Lyle tells Entertainment Weekly, “What we realized at a certain point was that five seasons would require dragging things out a little bit, and four seasons would require speeding things up. And ultimately, given the choice between the two, we feel good about how this played out. I would rather go out with a bang than overstay my welcome.”
“There’s such a freedom that comes with this being the end,” Lyle notes. “You get to just go for it. And I don’t know that that changed the story that we wanted to tell, but it certainly informed how we told it. We just said, ‘Let’s go for it. Let’s take the really big swings.’ Because even when I watch shows, I appreciate a big swing. This was an opportunity to do things that were a little crazy and maybe they’ll land, maybe they won’t, but we got to try and that was really important to us.”
