Because the Sigma fp II can allegedly record open-gate and RAW video directly to a memory card. Contrary to earlier rumors, the electronic viewfinder will reportedly not be integrated into the body but sold separately as an optional add-on to keep the dimensions as compact as possible. The new Sigma 50 mm f/1.4 Art lens is said to offer optical performance similar to the older model while being only about half the size. For context: The older lens is 11 centimeters long, with a diameter of 7.8 centimeters and a weight of 670 grams. The lens will reportedly be available for both Sony E-mount and Leica L-mount.
