“Did you know his body was never found?” Dread has revealed the official trailer for an indiehorror film titled Jimmy, a Dutch genre creation from filmmaker David-Jan Bronsgeest and writer Tim Koomen. They adapted their own 2018 short film titled Meet Jimmy and turned it into a feature – which first premiered in The Netherlands back in 2024 and is finally getting a VOD release in the US this fall. The horror revolves around convicted killer Jim who uses a true crime podcast to take revenge on a group of friends, and Dilara, who returns to the town following the murder of a childhood friend and suspect supernatural podcast is reeling in more victims. Similar to the other serial killer thriller Red Rooms recently. Home for a funeral, Dilara becomes obsessed with a podcast about a convicted killer, until past and present blur, and the dead begin to speak. Starring Rick Paul van Mulligen, Sonia Eijken, Charlie Chan Dagelet, Sara Luna Zorić, Richelle Plantinga, Thijs Boermans, Isa Hoes, Sophie Bouquet, and Aiko Beemsterboer. For some reason there’s also a Director’s Cut version of Jimmy out there last year. Very trippy neon trailer.

The screenplay is written by Tim Koomen. Adapted from the 2018 short film Meet Jimmy. It’s also produced by David-Jan Bronsgeest & Tim Koomen. This initially opened in The Netherlands back in 2024 and premiered at a few genre film festivals last year.
