It looks like HUM TV has another hit show on the horizon, having unveiled the teaser for its new drama Hurmat starring Dananeer Mobeen on Friday.
Though the teaser lasts less than a minute, it’s clear that the story revolves around the self-discovery of Hurmat, played by Mobeen, who is kept practically like a jailbird by her father, portrayed by Ali Tahir.
The titular character is shown looking at the sky from her home for the first time — yes, it is that intense — while lamenting that she is forbidden from attending university.
Veteran actor Javed Sheikh appears to have a pivotal role in the story, as he is shown aiding Hurmat’s first steps into the real world.
The show is expected to have a lot more depth to it, as it comes from the pen of Kashif Anwar, whose previous work includes Sabaat (2020) and Neem (2023) for HUM TV, and Nauroz (2023) for Green Entertainment.
Almost all of Anwar’s stories carry a profound message for audiences. Sabaat, for instance, delved into topics like harassment, classism and mental health. Neem was a multi-faceted story about social reform set against the backdrop of feudalism. And Nauroz was a gripping drama about growing up in isolation and fighting for survival.
Given this track record, Hurmat is poised to be more than just a tale of a woman who seeks freedom.
“A woman gets a surname twice — once at birth, and the second time when she gets married,” remarks a character in the <a href="https://cinemamix360.com/2026/09/05/teaser-trailer-silo-the-final-season/" title="Teaser Trailer: "Silo" The Final Season”>teaser trailer, addressing a pensive Hurmat, who clearly appears to be struggling with her sense of identity in an increasingly shrinking world for women.
Produced under the banner of Momina Duraid and directed by Nadeem Siddique, Hurmat promises plenty of exciting twists and turns, though it remains to be seen when it will actually go on air.
“Some dreams demand a price, while some restrictions quietly become a way of life. Between what is expected and what the heart desires, a battle for freedom begins. Hurmat is a story of dreams, boundaries, and the courage to question them,” reads the official synopsis of the drama.
