Vrysomylos. Mill of Stories. launches an exclusive international story development programme in Greece
Vrysomylos. Mill of Stories., a new international story development programme created for filmmakers, screenwriters, directors and storytellers, opens applications for its first edition, taking place 17–21 November 2026 at Vrysomylos Estate in Pylos, Greece.
Designed as an intimate and highly focused creative experience, the programme will welcome only four participants from around the world, offering them the time, space and professional guidance to explore their projects, challenge existing ideas and unlock the full potential of their stories.
The programme is aimed primarily at filmmakers, screenwriters, directors and storytellers who are in the early stages of developing a project or who have reached a creative blockage. It is also open to creators looking for a space in which they can experiment, question and test their stories away from the pressures and routines of everyday professional life.
Set directly on the beachfront in Pylos, in the Peloponnese, Vrysomylos Estate becomes an essential part of the creative process. Overlooking the Ionian Sea, the location has been chosen to create an environment conducive to reflection, writing, dialogue and creative change. Participants will have direct access to the beach, an outdoor swimming pool, a gym and quiet areas throughout the estate’s gardens.
Five days dedicated to the story
Rather than following the structure of a conventional screenwriting workshop, Vrysomylos. Mill of Stories. is conceived as an immersive development experience combining collective exploration with individual work.
Across five days, participants will take part in exercises and workshops adapted to the specific needs of their projects, individual and group mentoring sessions, inspiring walks and conversations with special guests, as well as late-afternoon film screenings. The programme concludes with an individual online follow-up and feedback session after the residency.
The programme is led by Massimiliano Nardulli and Adina Stetcu, bringing together international experience in screenwriting, film development, acting, programming and mentoring.
Adina Stetcu is a Romanian actress and screenwriter based in Bucharest. With an initial academic background in economics, she later graduated in Theatre and Drama and has worked as an actress in Romanian and international film productions since 2012. She further developed her acting practice at international studios including the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute in Los Angeles.
In 2016, she was selected for the Sarajevo Talent Campus, held under Berlinale Talents. She subsequently completed a master’s degree in screenwriting at the National University of Theatre and Film “I.L. Caragiale” in Bucharest. Her screenplay The Lady with the Red Bag won the Romanian short screenplay competition in 2020.
Adina is currently developing several film projects, two of which have been selected as finalists in international development programmes including Write a Screenplay For in Romania and Villa Hegra & Film AlUla & LIM, connecting France and Saudi Arabia.
Massimiliano Nardulli is an Italian screenwriter, script advisor, film programmer and music composer based in Romania. Since 2008, he has worked as a curator and programmer for film festivals across Europe and has developed extensive experience mentoring international short, feature and documentary film projects.
He is one of the creators and currently Artistic Director of Less Is More (LIM), the international film development programme, and has co-created several other development initiatives, including Fulgor Lab, Word-Frame, ShorTS Development Training and TGF’s What’s The Story?.
Alongside his work as a screenwriter, consultant and tutor, Nardulli is also a film music composer. His work has been recognised in Romania with both Gopo and UCIN awards for his soundtracks.
Together, the two tutors will work closely with each of the four selected participants through a combination of collective and individual sessions, with the programme deliberately maintaining a small group in order to allow substantial attention to every story and its creative challenges.
International applications open until 1 October
Applications for the first edition are open until 1 October 2026.
Candidates are invited to submit a short synopsis, a three-page treatment, a bio-filmography and a link to a two-to-five-minute video explaining their motivation for joining the programme, their expectations and the project they intend to develop. All application materials must be in English and combined into a single PDF document.
The selected participants will arrive at Vrysomylos Estate on 16 November, with the programme running from 17 to 21 November and departure scheduled for 22 November.
The €2,000 participation fee includes ground transportation from Athens Airport to Vrysomylos Estate, six nights of accommodation in individual en-suite rooms, daily breakfast and two home-cooked meals throughout the day, the complete five-day workshop and exercise programme, walks and talks with special guests, cinema screenings, dedicated mentoring with the two tutors and an individual online follow-up session after the programme.
