Critical Role and hololive production Announce Shattered Legends, a New Daggerheart Actual Play
October 13, 2026, Tokyo, JAPAN – COVER Corporation (Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Motoaki Tanigo) announced Shattered Legends, the first-ever collaboration between Critical Role, the storytelling and media company behind the hit actual play series of the same name, and hololive production, the renowned Japanese-based virtual production group innovating immersive digital and in-person experiences via its roster of virtual talent and cutting-edge technology. Sponsored by Ultra PRO and premiering mid-November, 2026, the actual play series brings together the two casts for a new Daggerheart adventure that is canon to Critical Role’s world of Exandria. Viewers will be able to follow the campaign from start to finish through an online mini web series that will be hosted on YouTube and Beacon.
Daggerheart is a fantasy tabletop roleplaying game of brave heroics and vibrant worlds that is collaboratively built. The ebbs and flows of Hope and Fear shape the story, while the card system brings characters’ backgrounds and capabilities to life with dynamic illustrations. With a focus on narrative and character-driven stories, Daggerheart encourages every player to be a storyteller.
With renowned voice actor Matthew Mercer hosting as Game Master, the Shattered Legends cast includes hololive stars Nerissa Ravencroft, Mori Calliope, Shiori Novella and Gigi Murin who will play alongside Critical Role star and voice actress Marisha Ray. In addition to the campaign series itself, which will be publicly available, alongside additional content such as an Episode 0 that will feature the cast’s character building and backstories, and “cooldown” after-episode talks will also be available on Beacon, Critical Role’s subscription-based streaming service. Japanese subtitles will be available for all episodes on YouTube.
Along with an upcoming promotional convention tour in North America, Europe, and Asia, exclusive merchandise and future updates about the collaboration will be announced at a later date.
