The Trailer for the Final ‘Jumanji’ Movie Is a Lot

They were kids. They were senior citizens. And now, for the final Jumanji film, they’re a family. But that’s just the start of it. The first trailer for Jumanji: Open World was just released, and it feels like the trailer for two or potentially even three <a href="https://cinemamix360.com/2026/07/28/5-best-movie-trailers-from-sdcc-2026-ranked/” title=”5 Best Movie Trailers From SDCC 2026, Ranked”>movies in one. There’s the “Open World” aspect of the title, with the buff heroes of Jumanji (played by Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan) somehow outside the game and in the real world, but then there’s also a whole section with those heroes as almost a family, with one as the mom, one as the “dad,” one as the older sibling and another as the younger one.

Then, of course, there are also threads from the previous movies. The group of young friends who discovered Jumanji in the first place. The older characters who starred in the sequel. And we have no idea how the heck it’s all going to work. But we’re definitely curious. Check out the trailer for Jumanji: Open World.

2017’s Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (the first in this run of films but considered the second in the franchise) was a surprisingly entertaining film, mostly bolstered by the performances of those four charismatic leads. The sequel, 2019’s Jumanji: The Next Level, wasn’t quite as enjoyable but provided enough laughs and action to at least be passable. And, usually, the third film in the trilogy would dip from there. But, it’s been seven years since that previous film. You have to hope that, in that time, care was taken to meld all of the wild plot strands into something worthwhile.

Once again directed by Jake Kasdan, Jumanji: Open World co-stars Alex Wolff, Madison Iseman, Morgan Turner, Ser’Darius Blain, Rhys Darby, Nick Jonas, and Danny DeVito. It’s out on Christmas Day. What did you think of the trailer?
