With audio post by Mr. Bronx, the Fala Chen-directed and Colin Farrell-produced short film was selected for the TIFF Short Cuts programme
Bloodline – written and directed by actress, director, and writer Fala Chen (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) and produced by actor Colin Farrell (The Banshees of Inisherin, The Batman) – has announced its worldwide premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival as part of the Short Cuts 2026 Programme. The 19-minute film will debut on September 14th, 2026 at 11:30 AM local time.
With sound design by Geoff Strasser and David Wolfe out of Mr. Bronx, and re-record sound mix by Geoff, the film roots itself in the historic systemic erasure and oppression of Chinese-American communities. Bloodline follows two siblings – Ruby Chan, played by Michelle Mao (Bridgerton), and Peter Chan, played by Ben Wang (Karate Kid: Legends) – in 1952 Utah as they embark on a mission to find their family treasure.
Geoff specialises in sound design and mix for the advertising industry’s most recognisable campaigns, for brands like Perfect Bar, Samsung, Wells Fargo, UPS, Visa, Under Armour, adidas and Liquid Death, among others. His entertainment projects span TV hits like The Bear, Welcome to Wrexham, and Ramy, and the feature film Blue Sun Palace (2024), which earned two Cannes Film Festival nominations and one win, a French Touch Prize of the Critics’ Week Jury honor.
David also worked on The Bear and Welcome to Wrexham, as well as the US release of The Boy and the Heron, Beyoncé’s Black Is King, Beyoncé: Homecoming, and numerous films with premieres at the Sundance Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival, TIFF, Venice Film Festival, SXSW, and more. As the founder of Mr. Bronx, he leads sound design and mix for brands like Uber, Häagen-Dazs for Super Bowl LIX, Sprite, Petco, LG, and many more.
