Disney+ to add TikTok-style short videos through new deal

The Walt Disney Company has announced a new partnership with
TikTok that will allow creators to use official Disney content from
some of the world’s most popular entertainment franchises, AzerNEWS
reports.
Under the agreement, selected creators in the United States will
receive legal access to a large library of materials from hundreds
of films and television series, including titles from Marvel,
Pixar, Star Wars, and FX. This will allow users to create short
videos, promotional content, and creative projects featuring
well-known characters and scenes.
The new content will appear not only on TikTok but also on
Disney’s streaming platform Disney+ through a special vertical
video section called Verts. As part of the Disney Creator
Ambassador Program, successful creators will have opportunities to
participate in exclusive events, collaborate with the company, and
receive additional promotional support.
According to TikTok’s internal research, users create millions
of posts about films and TV shows every day, and a significant
number of viewers discover new entertainment content through the
platform. The partnership highlights the growing influence of
short-form video in the way audiences find and engage with movies
and series.
The announcement came alongside Disney’s third-quarter financial
results. The company reported that the operating profit of its
streaming division reached $712 million, more than doubling
compared with the previous year.
The collaboration between Disney and TikTok reflects a broader
shift in the entertainment industry, where major studios are
increasingly working with online creators to reach younger
audiences and promote content in more interactive ways.
