The Walking Deadseason one debuted nearly two decades ago. Still, the franchise is drawing eyeballs.

Now a new comprehensive five-year deal will attract more viewers after Netflix and AMC Global Media have inked an agreement worth $500 million.

Set to begin in 2027, the contract will unfold inThe Walking Dead and its six spin-offs, a total of 371 episodes, which will have a presence on both streaming platforms.

Since 2011, Netflix has had the exclusive U.S. streaming rights for the Dead franchise. But now AMC+ will also stream the flagship series.

However all seasons will not drop at once on the platforms; instead, the expiry of licenses for each show will decide which will be released in which region

Netflix hailed the agreement, as its vice president of licensing, Lori Conkling, said, “Audiences have discovered and loved The Walking Dead on Netflix for nearly 15 years, and the show continues to attract new fans.”

“We’re excited to partner with AMC Global Media to continue to expand that access to more audiences around the world and bring the entirety of The Walking Dead Universe to Netflix.”

Similarly, AMC Global Media CEO Kristin Dolan described the agreement as “We are thrilled to expand our long-time partnership with Netflix around The Walking Dead.”
