AFG vs ZIM T20I series 2026 preview
Afghanistan come into the series as tri-series champions after beating Zimbabwe in the final in Abu Dhabi. Ibrahim Zadran takes charge of the T20I side, while Mohammad Nabi and Darwish Rasooli have been left out, and Mohammad Akram returns after making his debut at the Asian Games.
Zimbabwe reached that final ahead of Bangladesh, and Sikandar Raza remains captain for the T20Is. Innocent Kaia is back after recovering from a thigh strain, and Tafadzwa Tsiga and Vincent Masekesa keep their places, while Brendan Taylor and Craig Ervine are not part of the T20I squad.
Zimbabwe have never won a T20I series against Afghanistan, and Sharjah gives them another chance before the two sides move on to Test cricket. The two-match Test series starts at the same venue on November 5, so both teams will have more cricket together in the UAE.
