Good News Catholic TV, a Catholic digital media ministry based in the southern Pakistani port city of Karachi, has upgraded its production facilities to strengthen its evangelization and media outreach across the country and beyond.

The modernization includes new audio mixing systems, professional microphones, improved soundproofing, and other production equipment designed to enhance the quality of daily broadcasts. A kitchen facility was also added to support production teams during extended recording and live broadcast schedules.
Founded in 2009, Good News Catholic TV has grown into a 24-hour online television network, broadcasting through YouTube, social media platforms, and its website. The channel has more than 24,400 subscribers and has produced over 3,600 videos.
Its programming serves Catholics in Pakistan and the Pakistani diaspora, featuring live Masses, Scripture reflections, catechetical programs, diocesan news, youth content, and other faith-based productions.
Speaking during the blessing ceremony, Archbishop Travas highlighted the growing importance of digital media in the Church’s mission.
“Media serves as a primary tool for the Church’s mission to extend beyond parish walls,” he said.
“These facilities enable Good News Catholic TV to bring the Gospel message into homes across Pakistan and internationally. By expanding our technological capacity, we can reach young people with faith formation in ways that speak to their generation.”
Among those attending the ceremony were Good News Catholic TV Director Fr. Afzal Gulfam and Manager Faizan Yousuf. The renovation was funded through the support of Fr. Arthur Charles, parish priest of St. Anthony’s Church, together with local benefactors.
Fr. Gulfam said the upgraded facilities would serve not only as a broadcast studio but also as a training center for future Catholic media practitioners.
“This expansion strengthens our technical capabilities and enables us to produce higher-quality programming,” he said. “With improved audio production and studio workflows, we are better equipped to create content, record liturgical music, and train Catholic media professionals.”
Yousuf thanked Archbishop Travas, Fr. Charles, and the project’s benefactors for making the improvements possible.

The network plans to expand live coverage of diocesan events, launch new educational series, and provide technical media workshops for volunteers as part of its continuing commitment to Catholic communications in Pakistan.
