We still don’t know when we’ll get to see the show on TV.

Fans of Mahira Khan and Wahaj Ali got another treat over the weekend as the first teaser for their upcoming drama Mitti De Baway was released on Sunday.
The minute-long teaser, which comes days after the show’s trailer was released on Tuesday, sheds a little more light on their characters’ histories and backgrounds.
Khan’s character, Bilquees (Billo), is shown to belong to an affluent household, which ties in perfectly with her being shown to become a spiritual leader in the trailer; she could have inherited the position.
Ali’s character on the other hand, Iqbal (Baala), is shown to belong to a significantly lower social class, with Billo scornfully remarking in a scene, “He is the son of a mother who plays the garhvi (a small clay pot sometimes played as an instrument).”
He’s shown to be playing the tambourine as his mother performs at a wedding in a flashback.
Baala seems to struggle with the class difference, with someone telling him in one scene that, “Being low-born is not a flaw… One should not be ill-natured.”
There’s a lot less firepower in the teaser, compared to the trailer. There’s a lot more tension though, especially in the final scene, where Billo looks at Baala — who is off screen — and tells him, “If I am ruined, Baala, you won’t thrive either.”
If you haven’t seen it, the trailer showed Billo and Baala as young lovers before Baala was sent to prison. Billo then ascended to her position as a spiritual leader and with it, understood that she would now be needing someone of equal stature to settle down with.
Still, scenes of the two from after Baala’s prison stint, with serious tension in the air between them, seem to indicate their heartstrings may connect again at some point.
And while the guys at Green Entertainment gave us a bit more information with the teaser, they still haven’t said when the drama will actually air on TV, instead continuing to say it is “coming soon”.
