    Deadline: 5pm on Wednesday 30th September 2026

Arvon’s Screenwriting Programme is a new talent development programme for emerging screenwriters from working-class and lower socio-economic backgrounds. Over two years, Arvon will support five screenwriters to attend three Arvon screenwriting weeks, online courses and one-to-one mentoring, working towards completing a spec script. You’ll gain vital insight into the TV industry, supported by professional screenwriters and a script editor, have your work performed by professional actors, and get practical guidance from casting directors, agents and producers. The programme is fully funded, with additional funding for travel and to support time away from home.

This programme is for emerging screenwriters aged 18+ (as of 1 January 2027) who live in the UK and plan to continue living here until at least November 2028.

Applicants must be from working-class or lower socio-economic backgrounds.

To apply please submit the following:

    • a 300-word synopsis of a TV project you would like to develop across the programme.
    • a one-page personal statement
    • the first 10 pages of a screenplay that showcases your writing talent

For further details, terms and conditions and contact details visit the website.
