The London post-production company’s founding-team colorist will now oversee daily operations across its creative, production, and technical teams.
Zain Haris has been promoted to managing director at DISAUTHORITY, the independent, artist-led London post-production company he has been part of since its inception.
DISAUTHORITY provides picture, VFX, and audio post-production for shortform, high-end TV, and feature films from facilities in Farringdon and Croydon, where its suites are set up for Baselight and DaVinci Resolve grading, VFX reviews, and onlines. It also develops its own projects under the DISAUTHORITY Originals banner and supports some productions through equity investment and deferred payment against post-production spend.
Haris joined when the company was still led solely by its founder, Marcus Hundsnes. Over the past three years he has worked as a colorist while helping establish its technical pipeline and shape its creative development.
In his new role, Haris will oversee day-to-day operations, working with the company’s creative, production, and technical teams. The move lets Hundsnes, the company’s owner, and executive Maria Hundsnes-Shevtsova put more of their time into existing relationships, new opportunities, and expanding DISAUTHORITY offerings.
“Zain has been there from the very beginning, so having him step into this role feels like a natural progression,” said Hundsnes. “He understands DISAUTHORITY inside and out, not only creatively and technically, but also the way we want to work and the standards we want to set.”
“It gives Zain the scope to take on a greater leadership role, while allowing Marcus and I to focus on developing the DISAUTHORITY slate and our offerings,” said Hundsnes-Shevtsova.
Harris said, “I’ve been fortunate to help build DISAUTHORITY and I’m proud of what the team has achieved so far. Taking on the role of Managing Director is an exciting challenge, which reinforces our ambition and continued adaptation to an ever-changing industry.”
