The multi-disciplinary filmmaker and editor joins fresh from being named CICLOPE’s 2026 Director of the Year, Asia Pacific
Creative production partner Tool has added award-winning director Patrick Fileti to its roster. Patrick brings a multi-disciplinary approach to his work, offering a stunning eye for visuals and a visceral creative flair that has earned him a reputation for capturing the emotional texture of real life through a seamless blend of documentary and fiction.
His directing career has spanned multiple continents and includes breathtaking work for brands such as Google, Canon, Lexus, Porsche, WWF, and more. Most recently he led a global project for Etihad Airways, ‘Beyond Borders,’ which highlights several individuals’ stories of crossing borders to change their lives.
“Everyone at Tool is ecstatic to welcome Patrick to our roster”, said Michelle Towse, managing director of Tool. “There’s a quality to Patrick’s work that’s hard to name and impossible to fake. A distinctive voice drawn to the emotional texture of real life. He moves between documentary and fiction as though the line never much mattered to him, creating moments that feel observed rather than staged.”
His work last year on Go Mongolia led to his acknowledgement as the CICLOPE 2026 Director of the Year, Asia Pacific, as well as earning prizes for Best Cinematography and Best Use of Music at the festival. Patrick’s accolades span numerous other award programs, including a Titanium Grand Prix at Cannes Lions for his WWF work, Earth Hour, as well as recognition for a film inducted into the Museum of Modern Art in New York and into the Clio Hall of Fame.

Patrick Fileti says, “I’m genuinely excited to be working with Michelle [Towse] and the team. We connected straight away. She’s awesome, and we’re really aligned on the kind of work we want to make. I always start with the emotional truth of a story and build everything else around that, and as technology changes filmmaking, I think that instinct matters more, not less. Tool gets that balance, pushing into new technology without losing the human moments that actually make a story land. I can’t wait to see what we make together.”
Tool will represent Fileti’s commercial career in the United States, effective immediately.
