SEMILLERU Lab has opened applications for its 2026 development and post-production programmes, with short films eligible for two €4,000 awards alongside mentoring, subtitling, DCP and legal support.
Applications opened on 30 September 2026 and close on 15 October at 11:59pm CET.
There is no application fee.
The programme accepts both short and feature-length projects, with separate tracks for films still being developed and projects that have already entered post-production.
Selected filmmakers will take part in the lab in person in Gijón/Xixón from 16 to 19 November, during FICXPro, the industry programme attached to the Gijón/Xixón International Film Festival.
Two €4,000 Awards
The Development programme includes the SEMILLERU Lab Development Award, carrying a gross prize of €4,000 for one selected project.
Development participants are also eligible for the Impulso ECAM Award, which provides personalised mentoring with an industry professional connected to ECAM.
The Post-Production strand offers a separate €4,000 SEMILLERU Lab Post-Production Award.
Projects in that track can also compete for the Subtitulam Award, providing translation, subtitling and DCP creation, and the WELAW Award, providing 10 hours of legal advice.
Short Films Are Explicitly Eligible
Both categories accept short films. Applicants must be resident in Spain, be fluent in spoken and written English and meet the programme’s experience requirements.
What Development Applicants Need
Development applicants must submit a project dossier covering synopsis, visual and formal approach, statement of intent, biographies, project status, production needs, timeline, budget and financing plan.
Post-Production Applicants Must Submit Footage
The Post-Production strand additionally asks filmmakers to provide a viewing link to the film or material shot so far.
