The film, called LAST CAPRICE, will be released on Halloween
Maxim Vengerov has released the trailer for the thriller LAST CAPRICE, in which he makes his first fictional film appearance. The film is based on links that have often been made between the violin and the devil throughout history, particularly in the case of Niccolò Paganini.
In the trailer’s caption, Vengerov wrote:
‘In almost every culture, the violin has been called the devil’s instrument. What if it were true… I’m proud to share the trailer for LAST CAPRICE — my first fiction role.’
In the trailer, Vengerov plays the ending of the Sibelius Violin Concerto during horror-themed shots of pegs unwinding by themselves, a bridge cracking and wind instruments’ keys moving on their own.
The film was directed by Jeremie Laurent and produced by Frédéric Laurent and Nina Productions. It will be released at 10pm GMT on Halloween, 31 October, on YouTube.
