Old New Castle will be transformed into a movie set this week, and anyone driving down the already tight roads may encounter fewer parking spots and closed streets.

Independent film studio Armory Films is producing a road trip film titled “Unaccompanied Minor” up and down the East Coast, including in Old New Castle.

The production will begin set up on Sep. 15 and 16. Parking restrictions may go into affect at this point, and a fake traffic light will be installed at Delaware and Fifth Streets. The stop signs will still be in effect, according to information on New Castle’s website.

Filming is set to start on Sep. 17 and go through Sep. 18 in the heart of Old New Castle. This will close some streets between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. both days.

Armory Films said it worked with the city administration to minimize inconveniences caused by the production, and listed a contact for concerned people ontheir filming notice.

“We respectfully request that residents and visitors assist our efforts by utilizing public parking lots or off-street driveways wherever possible,” the film notice said. “We know the streets are narrow and parking is tight across town, so we’ll do our very best to reduce our footprint whenever possible.”
