KineMaster free users can now export watermark-free videos in Bangladesh

KineMaster, the mobile video-editing app, has introduced watermark-free video exports of up to 1080p for users in Bangladesh, Pakistan and Indonesia who do not subscribe to its Premium service.

The change comes with version 8.2 of the app and removes the subscription requirement for watermark-free exports in the selected markets, according to a press statement sent to The Daily Star.

“This reduces a key barrier to entry for video editors to create and showcase their work both for fun and professionally. Eliminating the subscription requirement for watermark-free content empowers editors to produce video stories that truly belong to only them,” KineMaster said in the statement.

KineMaster said most of its editing tools would remain free to use. Its Asset Store also offers free graphics, music, transitions and AI plugins, while Premium subscriptions provide access to the full asset library, remove in-app advertising and lift usage limits on certain tools.

Premium subscribers will continue to have access to features including 2K and 4K exports on compatible devices, as well as project backup and private sharing through the company’s KineCloud service.

The change could help students, aspiring content creators and journalists in Bangladesh who use mobile apps to edit videos for social media, news reports and other projects but cannot afford a Premium subscription.

“KineMaster has been popular since the early days of mobile video editing, and I have been training people to use it since 2016,” said Jamil Khan, associate professor and head of the department of journalism, media and communication at Daffodil International University (DIU).

“However, not everyone in Bangladesh can afford a premium subscription, leaving students looking for alternative ways to access its features. Making watermark-free editing more accessible could benefit journalism students, content creators and multimedia journalists across the country,” he said.

Khan added that the change could help people producing content for television, social media and other platforms, as competition from apps such as CapCut, InShot and Meta’s Edits grows.

KineMaster said Premium subscriptions help fund the development of new features, assets and AI-powered tools. The company also said its AI plugins process media on users’ devices rather than uploading it to its servers.
